Food pics part 2

Continued from previous post...

Dinner at a Korean restaurant near Lonsdale Street: This particular meal was unforgettable, firstly because it was my first proper Korean meal (albeit not in Korea) and secondly, the temperature that night dropped to 6 degrees. ugh..

Here goes:

It was a good meal. I think we ordered too much food for three of us :P... and I wasn't too keen on eating the beef sashimi. The bulgogi is still my favourite. We did order a serving of grilled octopus, but it wasn't that great. Kimchi was good though. :) Korean seafood pancakes were not too bad.

Moving on, folks (ala Chef Ah Wong), here are two teaser pictures which sweet lovers would die for.

Check this out:

Warning: Do not eat. These aren't real.

Hehe, am I evil or what. Pictures taken from a candy shop at Katoomba (home of the World Heritage Site-the Blue Mountains). Mind you, they look just as good as the real ones you can pop in your mouth.

Alright, enough of drooling over pieces of plastic, lets head over to Chadstones, the largest shopping mall in the Southern Hemisphere (our Mid Valley can qualify as the largest mall on the equator). I had this:

Best sushi platter I had throughout this trip.

A bit of digression here:

Worse tasting sushi I had on this trip. Never trust buck teethed Japanese waitresses who tell you that " hai! our sushi is the bestor tastingor here. Ano... you want what?"

The rice was too sour, the salmon not fresh and the ginger so miserable in one corner, I couldn't bring myself to eat it. Sighs.

(listens as my wallet screams in protest over the damage done over such unsatisfying food)

Scene of crime: Some underground food court along Sydney Chinatown. lots of great food. Just don't go for the Japanese food. :P

Back to Chadstones. My friend had this:

a tacky taco which tasted very good. :)

Ok, a detour to Katoomba again. I forgot to show you what I had for dinner. After walking along the high street of Katoomba (not surprising), freezing and hungry, we settled for a Thai restaurant which looked pretty decent.

The food, however, wasn't much to shout about. However, since I was as hungry as a Tasmanian devil, I couldn't care less..

Blurry picture of the Thai beef salad. It was alright.

Thai Green Curry. Absolutely nothing to shout about. Eat only when you are absolutely hungry (and do not want to eat cardboard boxes).

End of Part 2. To be continued...

Hi Chen,
I have no idea why as well. Apparently, it makes the beef sashimi tastes better. I let others judge.

Hmmm, not sure kua Chen. Nonetheless, what BK didn't like, I certainly polished it off with gusto. Absolutely lovely (although some parts were still a bit frozen)!

Is there any reason behind why the raw egg was put on top of the beef sashimi?

Right... four years exactly into working life and suddenly I found the urgent need to ramble about my not so interesting life...here goes:

I am:
Liberal and radical on paper only. This is the basic description I would give myself. I am a good listener and usually offer sensible advice. If I don't sound like myself, its must be my evil twin at work :P

I am passionate about:
Music and Arts. Can't imagine what this world would be like without these two essential elements.

When I'm not working my head off I like:
Meeting new people from all walks of life and listening to their life experiences. I take things with an open mind (albeit not completely Zen like) and always remind myself not to take anything in life for granted.
And I wish:
All my friends, my family and everybody else who will somehow cross paths with me, a fulfulling life, in terms of work and relationships. And remember, you only live once. So make the best out of it. :)
