Food pictures Part 4-Costi's @ the Rock, Sydney and Bamboodle @ Parramatta

Moving on, after animal lovers out there who are clearly "disturbed by my "before and after" pictures below, I now bring you to Costi's, a famous seafood restaurant at the Rock in Sydney.

The Rock is a happening area in Sydney, just a stone's throw away from Circular Quay, where you can get a lovely view of the Sydney Opera House. The other place to get a view of the Sydney opera house with the Sydney Harbour Bridge behind it, is Mrs Macquarie's Chair, adjacent to the Royal Botanical Gardens. The area buzzes with activity and life, especially at night. There are plenty of pubs and restaurants for you to choose from.

Here's how the interior of Costi's looks like:

The restaurant runs on a self service, fast food chain concept where food is served in disposable paper boxes. I believe its a hit with the locals... the queue at the counter was extremely long.

We ordered a barramundi fillet, a grilled lobster as well as oysters on the rocks.

We got 8 oysters instead of 6 because they forgot our order until I asked for it. :D

The lobster was alright, although for the price, I would have liked the portion to be slightly larger. The barramundi fillet was ok. The texture of the fish was not as smooth as I expected it to be. Kind of like canned tuna. However, the salsa sauce was delicious.

Oysters were really fresh. And I love oysters...

Next stop: Bamboodle Thai restaurant at Westgate Shopping Centre, Parramatta

Parramatta is a suburb about 40 kilometres away from Sydney. You can take the express train from Sydney which would take you about 40 minutes (stops at 5 train stations along the way). Westgate is the major shopping centre in Parramatta, which also houses a row of restaurants deploying an open concept of dining (large, spacious window frames without glass-see pics below and you'll get the idea).

Bamboodle was featured in the tourist magazine which I conveniently nicked off the rack and we decided to try it out.

Here goes:

This is the interior of the restaurant. Note the large windows where you can reach your arms out and touch any girl who happens to walk past you (and has a hot tushy).

No, you can't. You'd be sued for sexual harrassment. (What were you thinking?)

For starters, we had deep fried tofu and stir fried squid:

For mains, we chose Pad Thai (fried noodles) and Spinach noodles in Green Curry.

Food was ok. I've had better tasting tofu. Squid was very nice, and the curry wasn't dissappointing too. The ambience is pretty pleasant.

This marks the end of my gastronomic adventures in Australia. Next stop will be sights, scenes, buildings and of course, the kawaii animals we saw at Healesville Wildlife Sanctuary.

Stay tuned!

Do you find it rational that they are suspicious connected with an full industry due to a very few terrible cheerios? There are actually not less than not one but two vital disparities, it appears to be with me. Initially, not one person worries this scientific research is proven to work, anything erroneous plus counterfeit lay claim could ever so often often be available. Nonetheless if there are actually every "miraculous" products out of faith-healing, above the male bodys private capability get rid of on its own, is rather a great deal during dilemma. The second thing is, a expose' with dupery plus blunder around scientific research created just about completely by way of scientific research. Although the vulnerability with dupery plus blunder around faith-healing will be under no circumstances executed by way of alternative faith-healers.

Chen,
the Lobster was AUD30 (I kept the bills). Like Arch the blog lurker said, cod fish tastes a lot better than Barramundi. Well since barramundi is a fish found only in Oz, we had to try it out.

Archangel,
Again, you are beginning to freak my loyal readers out. I probably will send you a fart for your birthday. Hahahahah

I think about AUD25 kua. I have tasted way better lobsters (just had one today on my Emirates flight....ugghhh.....Costi's is better!). To give Costi's credit, they set it up as a takeaway. So it's all good value for money. Hehhehe...maybe i better stop hijacking Bk's blog! Or she might mail me a bomb for my bday!

Profile

Right... four years exactly into working life and suddenly I found the urgent need to ramble about my not so interesting life...here goes:

I am:
Liberal and radical on paper only. This is the basic description I would give myself. I am a good listener and usually offer sensible advice. If I don't sound like myself, its must be my evil twin at work :P

I am passionate about:
Music and Arts. Can't imagine what this world would be like without these two essential elements.

When I'm not working my head off I like:
Meeting new people from all walks of life and listening to their life experiences. I take things with an open mind (albeit not completely Zen like) and always remind myself not to take anything in life for granted.
And I wish:
All my friends, my family and everybody else who will somehow cross paths with me, a fulfulling life, in terms of work and relationships. And remember, you only live once. So make the best out of it. :)
