Back from the Land below the wind

Merry Xmas everyone!

KK was good, although I have to say, the weather there is much hotter than Kuching. Am totally envious over the dazzling array of shops and boutiques available there. Basically, if you can't go to KL, do go to KK (for shopping purposes). I got an MNG handbag for a bargain price, and also lots of Body shop goodies! And haggled with my two friends over pearl bracelets and crystal bracelets at the FIlipino market. And also looked in awe at half naked men strutting their stuff at Pulau Manukan.

We received a small package from the hotel management on Christmas Eve, which consisted of gingerbread, walnuts, Brazillian nuts etc. Was a nice surprise. We also made friends with a 5 year old Vietnamese girl called Len at the swimming pool. And pigged out on seafood at the Ocean Village (next to Promenade Hotel).

Anyway, save for some cuts on my leg (brushed my leg against a coral while snorkelling), major tummyache yesterday evening and a bout of sniffles this morning, it was a lovely holiday. Managed to hit most of the shopping centres (Warisan Square, Wisma Merdeka, Centerpoint and Parkson). One of my friends is getting married soon, so this was more of a "hen's trip" than anything else. This is our first trip together in a group, and its unlikely that we can all go away for a break once she's married, so I really treasure our time together. :)

Here are some pictures from the trip:

This is Jessleton Point, where you can buy tickets to Pulau Manukan. A return trip costs RM17 per adult. You also need to pay RM6 terminal fees as well as RM20 to rent snorkelling gear. Upon arrival at Pulau Manukan, an entrance fee of RM3 is payable.

View from the jetty upon arrival at Pulau Manukan.

Gingerbread house @ Le Meridian, KK. I was tempted to do a Gretel and take a bite, but didn't. :P

My favourite dish- sea snails. They taste like escargot.

A Santarina gave us this on Christmas Eve...

Trying to be artistic on the last day of our trip. :)

Happy Holidays everyone!

Hi Robin!
The water is seriously clear my friend. Makes us feel inadequate with our "murky" waters here, ahah!
Sea snails were good. You should try them.

Right... four years exactly into working life and suddenly I found the urgent need to ramble about my not so interesting life...here goes:

I am:
Liberal and radical on paper only. This is the basic description I would give myself. I am a good listener and usually offer sensible advice. If I don't sound like myself, its must be my evil twin at work :P

I am passionate about:
Music and Arts. Can't imagine what this world would be like without these two essential elements.

When I'm not working my head off I like:
Meeting new people from all walks of life and listening to their life experiences. I take things with an open mind (albeit not completely Zen like) and always remind myself not to take anything in life for granted.
And I wish:
All my friends, my family and everybody else who will somehow cross paths with me, a fulfulling life, in terms of work and relationships. And remember, you only live once. So make the best out of it. :)
